Bio
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern in Austin, Texas, under the supervision of Travis Sebera, LPC-S. In 2004 I received my Master’s Degree in Counseling from Loyola University in New Orleans, and I am currently finishing my hours towards permanent licensure in Texas.
I began my counseling career in New Orleans working in an agency as a counselor for children and adolescents, their parents, and victims of violence. After moving to Los Angeles to be with my husband, I spent two years working with children who had been diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorders. I also spent time in Los Angeles working with children and adolescents in the foster care system and the probation system.
Since moving to Austin, Texas, I have focused my practice on working with young men and women who are experiencing depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. Most of the clients I see come to me because they just don’t feel like themselves anymore, and they need help sorting through what they are feeling and how to move through those unpleasant feelings.
Outside of the office, my passion is in working with postpartum mothers and their families. I run a support group for new mothers and their babies called Healthy Momma, Happy Baby! It is a wonderful and supportive environment in which new mothers can find a community and resources to support them on their journey through motherhood. Click here for more information about the Healthy Momma, Happy Baby! Support Group. Also, in partnership with several other Austin area working mothers, I am working to open a nonprofit organization to serve the peripartum community and to fill in some of the gaps left by the closing of Family Connections last year.
I am so thrilled to be working in private practice in Austin, Tx, and I look forward to meeting and working with you.
